Parents & Students
Welcome to the Monadnock Performing Arts Academy. MPAA is a training ground for the Dance disciplines of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern Dance and Hip-Hop.
MPAA is also the home to a Dance Performance Company. MPAA offers additional opportunities for the serious dancer. This program is by audition and invitation only. Members must be 8 years of age and enrolled in at least 3 dance classes per week at the Academy. Performances include a Spring Concert, Children & the Arts Festival, School Tours and more. Volunteering and fundraising is required of all Company dancers and parents.
The Academy has a wonderful Creative Dance program for four and five year olds. Students six and seven years of age may choose a Ballet/Tap/Jazz combo class. These classes are designed to introduce and encourage Ballet as an integral part of dance. The Academy offers a non-performing program for 3 year olds: La Petite!
Our program is designed so that children can progress smoothly from the Creative Dance level through to the Advanced Level. It is the goal of the Academy to provide quality instruction to the novice as well as the seroius dance student. Each student is encouraged to discover his or her own talents in a positive, non-competitive atmosphere.
Fitness, grace, self-discipline and personal accomplishment are just a few of the many benefits that dance provides. The Arts have been proven time and again to help students with academic achievement as well.
MPAA also offers classes for adults and teenagers new to dance. Please review our schedule
Monadnock Dance Apparel The Academy has a great store located on the premises filled with all your dance wear needs! Orders taken daily for any specialty items you may need! Open by chance or call 924-8844 to set up an appointment.
MPAA is an ongoing program from September, thru to June, culminating in a wonderful year-end performance. It is hoped that each student commits to classes every week for the school year in order to prepare for their performance. Proper strength, technique, and progress cannot be achieved without this commitment!
MPAA is proud to serve the Monadnock Community and is actively involved in supporting the Arts for children and adults through scholarship, donations to the community and volunteering.
